v0.0.3 Is now released!
Hiya! I'm now releasing version 0.0.3 of my voxel game. A lot of stuff was changed, mostly core stuff, refactoring code, etc. There are lots of fixes and some new content. Here is the changelog:
-Added 5 new blocks: Yellow cube, blue cube, red cube, blue floor tile and neko block. (functionality is gonna be added later)
-Fixed the memory leak that used to happen when resizing the window.
-You can now toggle borderless fullscreen with f11.
-The Gui adjusts and scales to the size of your resolution.
-Neko block. What not to love about it?
-Now we load texture, voxel and item data from json files.
-Changed a few things related to rendering, including removing bilinear filter from block selection.
-Shift key makes you crouch. (all this does for now is change your camera and speed)
-Page up and page down makes you switch your current block while in gameplay.
-Lots of code changes and rewrites, especially regarding questionable code choices. This might make the game run better.
Edit: - Increased player height.
And that is all that I can remember. I really hope you enjoy this release. I'd suggest using this version or v0.0.1 over v0.0.2 any day because of that memory leak. I guess some people don't know, but your can easily exit the grab mouse mode with either the e or the esc key. You can also select voxels with the left and right arrow keys and space in the inventory menu and switch their positions. Using the arrow keys while in gameplay will switch your current block.
Known issues:
-When the game is resized to way, way, WAY TOO SMALL the game crashes.
-Pressing the pagedown and pageup keys while on the inventory will glitch the interface.
-Forgot to change the version and name settings from the "details" section of properties.
I will probably fix all of these next release. I'm releasing this now mostly because there has been a long time since last update and I really needed to fix that memory leak. I will also be away from my computer for a while, so idk.
